Don't Fence me in

After some 6 months, today I finally broke down and got a haircut.  'Twas getting kind of overgrown and later in the day I stopped by the MVD and made preparations to get my traveling ID, and i did not wish to look homeless for my ID.

I do not wish to be trapped and not able to make my egress by airplane, should things get hairy. That's why I took steps to get a traveling ID. I shall still hang on to my old ID. The new ID cost me $50 and is only good for 8 years. My old ID has neither drawback, but I couldn't travel without the new ID.  Hobson's choices.

Blessed are the Peacemakers #PeaceintheMiddleElast

President Trump has facilitated major peace treaties in the middle east.  Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain started the ball rolling. Credit was given to Donald John Trump by participants.

Whatever comes of this, at least it's a start.

ZOOM Support Group Ĺo These Corona --Quarantine Times

ZION has become a valuable meeting medium.  Especially in thesedistances days.

I partook in a support group ZOOM meeting, which is right up my alley. Per the SoCal rock band,  Bad Dolphin, I am a Lazy MiddleClass Intellectual

Seasonal Markers

Every year I wear shorts and a straw fadora, while it's warm usually after Easter. And I switch to a felt fadora and jeans/trousers, when it gets 'cold,' in Arizona that's usually after Halloween. Lather, rinse and repeat.

Learning About Myself by Learning About my Ancestors

I am an American Dutchman. I can trace 3/4 (3 great grandfathers, the other quarter being German so there may be slight overlap) of my lineage to Holland, Netherlands, et al.  I share innumerable phenotypical and personality characteristics with my Dutch antecedents.  I'm stubborn, there's a trope of the stubborn Dutchman.  The Dutch are notoriously frugal;people chide me on the cobwebs whenever I have to open my wallet.  Always interested in a deal; more for less. I have an MBA from ASU '09.  My bailiwick is investing, principly equity(stock) instruments.  Interestingly, the first international stock exchange was founded in Amsterdam (1602), which is now Euronext Amsterdam. Nederlanders usually hold a Calvinist spiritual heritage (when they do worship).  Calvinism is quite a stubbornly independent faith family.  I was educated at a Southern Baptist college and am member of my local Southern Baptist Church. Southern Baptist denomination is in the Calvinist traditionorn.  A housemate and myself stream the local service after lunch Sundays via YouTube. I think it really neat that my neighborhood church is tech savvy enough to stream the service. Dutch are innately tech-savvy.

My hair is much the same pailor as my father's hair was at this point in his timeline, i.e. darker brown, but my moustache is the hue of my maternal grandfather's hair, i.e., more auburn.  Moustaches run in my family and the generic Dutchman (e.g.Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Dutch Masters et al.)

Just ZOOMED to Colorado after Dinner, and Now I'm Back

Just, mere moments ago, got off of an after dinner ZOOM chat with my Prodigal College Brother. Went off without a hitch in our giddyup. We had MANY classes together, study sessions, etc. in those halcyon collegiate days.  I even attended his wedding in Colorado.

After college, he went back to Colorado, explored his tech interests; I stayed in AZ, explored my stocks interest, earning an MBA in the process.

I'm not majorly tech-savvy, but neither am I a luddite.

Looks as though the ZOOM paradigm will continue.  My shrink got me on the ZOOM-train, low these quarantine days

Back to Patterns with a Twist

The lead caregiver from my old home is going  to take me with his guys when they go to the gym Tuesdays and Thursdays until my house again starts up the gym routine.  Not going to the gym that often was not copacetic with me. As such, I proactively encouraged my lead caregiver to contact my old lead caregiver to set it up.  My one takeaway that reinforces an apriori postulate is simply that Bureaucracy Sucks. Capitalization noted and intended. RedTape is best utilized as a grotting tool for asphyxiation

I Fought the Flu, and the Flu Lost

This past fortday,I've felt the encroachment of a flu bug.  But I always enjoy the lead up to a bout with a foreign invader. I like the warmth. So yesterday I ensconced myself in a crysalis of covers. About 4 AM my fever broke and I emerged from my cocoon and took a shower. My good old fashioned remedy of flushing the virus and its attendant bacterial progeny ot of my system worked great.
